Blue Robotics’ Ping and Cerulean’s Sounder S500 are both single-beam echosounders designed for small ROVs, AUVs and ASVs. While both have a depth rating of 300m, there are differences between the two:
- Ping has a 30-deg beam for distances up to 50m
- Sounder S500 uses a 5-deg beam for a range of 100m
