This wonderful creature was spotted on World Ocean Day 08jun23 – a beautiful orange Dumbo Octopus at 1400 meters (~4600 feet)! This footage was recorded in the Pacific Remote Islands Marine National Monument, by scientists on board E/V Nautilus
ROVs Transforms Seabed Monitoring for Fish Farming
Scottish company Tritonia Scientific is researching a new seabed monitoring method called georeferenced photogrammetry for use by the aquaculture industry. The research will be based on using cost-effective, observation class ROVs integrated with modified, through-water, acoustic tracking devices and stereo-cameras on the ROVs.

Historic WWII British Submarine Wreck Found near Greece

The wreckage of the British WWII submarine HMS Triumph was discovered at the bottom of the Sounion Peninsula in the Aegean Sea, by Kostas Thoctarides’ Greek diving team.
The HMS Triumph (N18) was a T-class submarine of the Royal Navy, first launched in 1938, and disappeared in 1942 during a patrol in the Aegean.

Rare Oarfish spotted on GBR
Snorkelers had a once-in-a-lifetime experience on the Great Barrier Reef last year, spotting a juvenile oarfish, about 1m to 2m long. Oarfish are rarely found in shallow waters, maybe because they need space to turn around? They are possibly the world’s longest bony fish and can grow up to 8m in length!
