Heard about a couple of upcoming ROV units that look like fun. Look forward to seeing them in 2017/18:
Underwater Mountains off Narooma
The CSIRO found two underwater MOUNTAINS off the coast of Narooma, south of Montague Island, earlier this month. The submerged mountains are larger than Mount Gulaga (spiritual home f the Yuin people) and their tops are at depths of ~1500m.

ROV to fight Crown-Of-Thorns Starfish
Fantastic that Queensland University of Technology’s ROV has software to identify and target COTS on its own. Will save a lot of commercial divers the risk of a COTS sting and a possible anaphylactic reaction. And it looks like they are using Blue Robotics thrusters:
