Interesting to see a “buyers guide” for ROVs but we find it a bit skewed towards the Chinese-made, consumer units and doesn’t provide much about more robust, frequent-use, commercial ROVs available. Still, a good starter’s guide:
The US’ National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has released ROV video and still images of wreckage from a cargo plane that crashed off Hawaii on July 2nd:
The wreckage is too deep for divers to reach so ROV/submersible recovery plans are being made to further investigate the cause of the dual engine failure.
So good to see ROVs routinely in use in commercial applications like underwater asset inspections. Here is another example of a company in Holland that recently added ROVs to their “drone” fleet.
